In simulations of 100,000 sessions of 1,000 bets each, Martingale at 2x produced a 73% session win rate, but the 27% of losing sessions lost an average of $6,847 each, making the net result exactly equal to the house edge (-1%). Maximum bet limits at most casinos also prevent the doubling from continuing past 15-17 consecutive losses. No betting system can turn a negative-EV game into a positive one.
